Easy Lasagna

I used to spend a full day prepping just to make lasagna. My sauce took hours and honestly I’m not sure that anybody really cared. So I went on a search for an awesome replacement and haven’t looked back.

I promised you would never have to scroll for 3 days to find recipes so lets get to it!

Ingredients-

1 box oven ready lasagna noodles

2-3 lbs ground hamburger (I like mine meaty and filling)

1 onion

2 jars Marinara sauce (I like Mezzetta)

5 oz Parmesan cheese (I like BelGioioso but the kids like Kraft)

1 - 24 oz container cottage cheese

32 oz shredded mozzarella

1 egg

Italian seasoning (optional)

Salt and pepper to taste

  1. Dice up your onion, I make mine impossibly small so my tiny detectives can’t find it.

  2. Cook down onions until almost translucent, then add ground beef and cook until brown. Salt and pepper to taste. You can also add Italian seasoning here or even some sausage.

  3. Drain grease

  4. Put meat back into pan and add marinara. Let it simmer while you gather the rest of your ingredients

  5. In a small bowl mix together cottage cheese, parmesan, egg, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper.

  6. In a 9x13 start to later- first spread a thin layer of meat sauce, next 3 lasagna noodles (don’t let them touch), cottage cheese mixture, sprinkle on the mozzarella and repeat until you run out of ingredients or room

  7. Tent with aluminum foil and cook per directions on lasagna noodle package (I usually bake for at 375 for 45 mins)

  8. Remove foil and cook additional 5 minutes or until cheese has browned to your liking

  9. Let sit for 15 mins, this is the hard part.

  10. Enjoy!
